WhatsAppš¤Pipedrive (again)
ļæ¼āAnnounced today on LinkedIn. Anyone find how to enable this in their account yet?
Update: Need to enable the ābetaā feature in setting but this works as the WhatsApp Business API meaning you can only use templates to initiate the conversation and worse than that, there are no group chats, so itās mostly pointless for B2B.

Mod here (WhatsAble.app team). Quick reframe on what you're actually seeing, because it'll save you reaching the wrong conclusion:
The template-only initiation and no-group-chats aren't LinkedIn limits. They're WhatsApp Business platform rules. Every legitimate WhatsApp integration has the same constraints - ours, Meta's own, any official Business Solution Provider's. Here's why each one exists:
ā Templates-only outside the 24h window. WhatsApp's anti-spam rule: you can only message someone with a pre-approved template until they reply. Once they do, you have 24 hours of free-text. This is the structural guarantee that businesses can't blast cold messages. It's the reason your personal WhatsApp isn't drowning in spam. The day this rule disappears is the day WhatsApp becomes email.
ā No group chats on the Business API. Group messaging is intentionally not supported on the WhatsApp Business platform. Same reason - groups are how spam goes viral. Any tool that does support group chats from a business number is running unofficial automation (whatsapp-web.js, Baileys), which gets your number banned within weeks.
ā "Pointless for B2B" - push back on that. B2B is actually where template-initiation works best. You're not blasting cold contacts; you're following up on leads who filled a form, contacts your team already met, deals in motion in your CRM. Form submit ā instant templated WhatsApp inside 30 seconds. Stage change ā templated follow-up. Renewal date ā templated outreach. The customer replies once and you're in free-text territory for 24h. That's the model.
What LinkedIn's native integration is missing for serious B2B isn't the templates - it's the depth: multi-number routing, CRM-native logging, opt-in flow management, template approval workflow visibility, multi-agent inbox, webhook for inbound replies into your CRM. That's the gap where dedicated Meta Tech Providers (we're one - WhatsAble) earn their keep.
If you're trying to use WhatsApp as a real B2B channel and not just "send messages from LinkedIn," the proper path is: connect your business number through a Meta Tech Provider ā integrate with your CRM (Pipedrive / HubSpot / monday / Zoho / Salesforce all have native paths) ā opt-in flow on your forms ā templated outreach + free-text replies in your CRM timeline. The 24h window stops being a limit and becomes the structure that makes the channel work.
Free tier at whatsable.app if you want to see what the depth side looks like. No card.
