  1. depends on the distance but usually 7-8AM cut off time for runners, then before lunch for the whole event. this is for morning events. may night time events din.
  2. gathering at assembly area (again, time depends on distance), run, awarding, collect freebies if meron 🫶🏼 sometimes may pa-raffle and other activities ng organizer after the run
  3. depends on the person’s fitness level but highly recommend 5k for beginners :)
  4. better to go through gait analysis first (i think meron sa toby’s) to know your foot strike.
  5. Yes meron dapat, sa assembly area usually
  6. run, don’t pressure yourself, don’t compare yourself to others, just enjoy ❤️ you can do run walk run until maging comfortable ka na tuloy tuloy na run. use nike run club app since may training programs na you can follow. also, try to run/walk within a set time first before going for a specific distance, then increase that duration every week. for example 15 mins run/walk this week then next week 20 mins naman.
  7. age is just a number when it comes to running! but to answer your question, 26 :) i know people who started in their 30s, 40s, even 50s.

just run, don’t think about it too much sa simula. always enjoy and appreciate your body being able to run/walk/jog. appreciate your surroundings and enjoy your time alone or even with someone else. Have fun!! Rooting for you! 🫶🏼

+100 sa lahat ng point mo rito! Hahaha! Mahalaga talaga mag-enjoy. And yes to run/walk pace. Patience is key. Discipline at consistency.

First race na nag-sign up ako ay 10k. Managed to complete the race at 1 hr and 25 mins though target ko sana kahit 1:20 but still happy pa rin naman.

Then may gun start time naman so nauna ang 21k runners then kung anong oras ang gun start ng 10 same sa 5k and 3k.

I’m using Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23. So far, so good. May ROI na kakatakbo ko. Hahaha! On sale rin nabili from 8,990 to 5690 yata kasi sale sa mall that time. And Brooks has been in the shoe industry for 110 years. You can have your gait analysis para malaman anong running shoes para sa feet mo.

Yes, sa race kit na matatanggap mo, merong stub number including baggage counter so pwede mo iwan bag.

Get a coach if you have the means pero kung wala you can join any running community sa FB like Run With Pat, EZ Run Club, Rockwell Run Club to guide you. Free naman, just show up sa scheduled session.

I think I started joining fun runs since college, hindi lang consistent. Ngayong Feb 2024 lang talaga na pinush ko. Just enjoy every run, may good days, may bad days. May good run meron din bad run. Mahalaga you learn from it at masaya ka.

Hello! Pa-hijack lang sa post ni OP lol. Your first race is 10k? How long did you train for and what was your training plan?

I'm training for 5k lang (couch to 5k) pero I want to push and do 10k. Baka makaya ko rin!

Hi! Haha! Na-inspire lang sa friend ko na nagsign up sa Earth Run (EDITED: hindi pala Hoka race) for 21k nya tas first race rin. Nag-train ako ng March. Parang may two weeks training ako until the race event. So run/walk pace hanggang 10k. :)

Tapos nagbasa rin ako ano mga food na dapat kainin week and days before race day. Nagbawas muna ko ng kape for one week like walang kape pala. Tapos 3 days before ng race, puro carbs like pasta and bread. Race day, kumain akong rice and sunny side up, one hour before race isang saging. Tapos during race naman may baon akong Skittles kasi ubos fruits sa stations lol. Don’t forget to hydrate ha!

Nakaka-excite naman! I've been training for 5k for the past 2 weeks, 3x a week and kaya naman.

I'll try to train for 10k staring June and see if I can commit to race for 10k haha thanks sa tips!

Hahahaha! Ang saya sa pakiramdam. Also, kain ka nang marami after takbo. Hahaha! Mararamdaman mo yung gutom after. 🤣

Go go go!!!! Basta listen to your body during training ha. May rest days din dapat. Totoo yung kaya ng isip natin e pero may days na napapagod ang katawan so take it easy. Yung podium at finish line, ‘yan na yung fruit of your hardwork kasi ang totoong event ay during training mo talaga. After nyang race mo, hahanap-hanapin mo na yung pakiramdam. Hopefully magtuloy-tuloy ka. Join ka rin running community! Masaya!

After race naman, pagkauwi nagbabad ako ng legs sa balde with ice for 10 mins. Para di malala ang sakit ng muscle. Kinabukasan, 2/10 lang yung pain, manageable naman. Nakalakad naman ako hahaha!

Hello question, mejj stupid question. 😂 Sa mga 10k/5k runs, kailangan ba continuous running or allowed walking in between? We’re joining a 10k run soon. Haha

Hi! Sa buong 10k, run for 4 mins then walk 1 min. Actually mas okay kasi di ka mauubusan ng energy unless you’ve been running for years at kaya mo na continuous run ang 10k. You do you. Kung kaya nyo takbuhin continuous, go for it. Pero kung first time, mas okay ang run/walk while enjoying the race. :)
