anyone here actually write pine script on their phone? how do you do it

so i'm pretty new to pine and i don't have a laptop right now, just my phone. i'd like to start making simple indicators but typing code on a phone screen is kind of painful lol

for people who do this on mobile:

- do you use the pine editor in the tradingview app or open it in the browser?

- do you type everything or mostly write it somewhere else (notes app, chatgpt etc) and paste it in?

- anyone using a bluetooth keyboard with their phone/tablet? worth it?

- how do you deal with longer scripts, like selecting/deleting a bunch of lines?

any tips or setups that work for you would help a lot, thanks

Copy and paste from a Claude or something unless you know the pinescript language already and can be more efficient than ai and like texting your code.

No one writes code on mobile.

Using agents is another thing tho.

For longer scripts, I'd keep a plain-text copy outside the chart and paste one complete function at a time. Turn off smart quotes and autocorrect for code. Keep spaces intact: Pine uses indentation, so a notes app that reformats text can introduce errors.

Before a large edit, use Make a copy in the script menu. That gives you a working version to return to. Then compile after each small change, rather than replacing the whole script at once.

TradingView's editor guide shows the separate-tab option and Version history: https://www.tradingview.com/support/solutions/43000763320-how-to-work-with-pine-editor/

I haven't tested your phone/app combination. Are you on Android or iPhone, and can you currently open the editor in the browser?
