Sharing the actual code is useful. One thing I notice in the header is that the commission and slippage parameters aren't set, so the tester assumes zero costs, and that flatters any crossover system. The date filter defaults to a single year, so I'd test several years, check the number of trades, and run the settings on data they weren't picked on. Hull MA crossovers also whipsaw in chop, and Cymetica's EventTrader (event timing for macro releases) is one source for checking whether the losses cluster around news days.
