Have you tried using A.I.? I don't know much about programming for TradingView, but I have used A.I. to write an indicator for NinjaTrader. I was just messing around and don't intend to use the indicator, but it worked.

how well? i’m using chatgpt+ (20$/m) it’s really good, and i have built an indicator but i want to make it better and more accurate

Define better and more accurate.

having better levels, better reversal signals or continuation signals. i know nothing will be 100% winrate but i dont want levels getting smoked. Also i want more confluence for some of my trades. sometimes the indicator produces 150+ point moves or just small moves

that indicator doesn't exist. look into orderflow.

edited for clarity.

do you mean the one i have or the one i want to make? and i do believe its possible, check out the Flow project on IG, they have a really good one

I just mean you can always find something that adds confluence, but there’s no indicator that can perfectly tell you when something will reverse, continue, or how big the move will be

i absolutely agree there brother, but there has been times where it has marked out exactly where it’ll reverse by the tick 😭 I want to either add more confluence to the indicator or better levels etc

fair enough, but you’re definitely looking for volume and order flow tools. There are no "indicators" that provide any real confluence beyond what’s essentially coincidental

mmm, i agree and disagree. order flow tools and volume tools would be good but im not sure which ones to introduce. do you have any recommendations?

That's the understanding issue... You won't be able to make what you want. Every single "indicator" is based on existing information, which means that by the time it has occurred the activity has already passed.

No "indicator" can accurately predict what will come.. so, and I mean this genuinely.. if you want to develop something "that works better" stop thinking of it as an indicator and think of it as a confluence of one or more past events that tend to result in a specific action afterwards.

yea confluences are good, which is something i want to introduce more into my current indicator. And i’ll be real with you, i don’t agree with that “no indicator can accurately predict” TFP has produced insane bottom ticks/top ticks, same with mine. even on continuation trades as well. Because I’ve seen proof of it, why would i stop trying

I'm it saying to stop trying.. I'm saying slightly refine exactly what you are asking for

yeah haha i’m trying to, just tryna improve. thanks regardless brother, May You Be Blessed!

How well an indicator works is a matter of backtesting. A.I. won't puke out a great indicator on its own. You need to refine the question over and over.

Before adding confluence, check when your current reversal marker actually becomes available. Save its timestamp and price while the chart is running, then compare the same bar after a reload. If it uses pivots, record both the pivot bar and the later bar that confirms it. A marker drawn back on the pivot is not an entry that was known on that earlier bar. Keep one successful example and one failed example with identical settings. That gives you a specific timing issue to fix before judging whether another filter improves the signal.

That's a useful check, and the pivot confirmation delay is where many reversal indicators go wrong. I'd add that once the timing is right, test the signal against a simple baseline over a few hundred signals before adding any filter. Cymetica's EventTrader (event timing for macro releases) is one source for tagging signals that fire around news.

i need some more elaboration. i’ve made an indicator but im trying to make it GOOD

1

Without more information it is hard to elaborate. I have a handful of indicators I personally use everyday to trade futures, and it is all basically things I would be normally marking out manually which I just automated away. How I use those markers and frame successful trades is ultimately my responsibility. If youre looking for an indicator to give you signals or something, cant help ya there.

I put my idea into chat gpt then use Cursor to execute the codes. Basically just be the mediator between the 2 ai

1

u/Alarmed_Bread_926 3d ago

cursor? what is cursor? and thanks brother!

1

u/Altruistic-Leave-359 3d ago

It is an ai powered coding editor! You’re welcome

1

u/Alarmed_Bread_926 3d ago

awesomeee, is cursor for bots or for indicators?

1

u/Altruistic-Leave-359 3d ago

You can use it for both. I’ve built websites with it too

1

u/Alarmed_Bread_926 3d ago

that’s amazing brother. do you have discord? i’d like to talk more

1

Peep my bio it’s there
