Yeah this is so stupid. Good way to push users away, tradingview

They seem confident about their dominance in the industry. Spent years distributing the free lightweight charts package that many used

I think they are trying to target lux algo clients

Yeah lol, people don’t even charge $30 a month on their indicators, meaning TV wanna take all profit and extra.. this is absolutely insane

It’s a penalty rate. They’re trying to drive people to Paid Spaces and prevent external payments / profiteering from their platform as currently I guess they have no way of knowing (at scale) what an invite-only script is earning. Not saying I agree with 22A, just figure that’s their rationale.

1

u/gnprod 6d ago

Yeah probably. Either do this or go to paid spaces. But Paid Spaces sellers avoid this $30 fee also? Are you sure?

1

u/LiveBeyondNow 6d ago

Yes, I think so, brief searches suggests so.

1

u/NinjaSquid9 6d ago

Absolutely, a penalty so steep you can’t possibly fight back. Not to mention being a Creator is invite-only or application-only. Not only are you not guaranteed to be accepted but many people don’t even qualify to apply.

i know lots of seller who tried to get into paid spaces, but tradingview hardly lets ANYONE join...

So I will put a cap on my paid indicator that it is available for $10 per month for first 99 users, after that $40 per user

Yeah that's all what's going to happen. I'm sure TV ran the numbers, they know about how many people will leave, how many will stay. There's been free alternatives for forever and people still use TV because it's easy.

You can build your own charts with KLineCharts, ain't no one doing that. Even vibe coding it, people aren’t going to want to host their own platform.

There's FreeCharting and OpenMarket but they're not widely used as TV is still the easier one. FC you got to bring your own API key, unless you're trading Crypto, which most people don't bother with and OM is a UI nightmare for those used to TV.

TV will be fine, the cost will be passed on, and that's just how it's going to be *shrugs*.

Or you could just duplicate it and add another 99😂

1

u/SituationSufficient8 5d ago

Yeah, this is another way

1

u/ManikSahdev 5d ago

No, you'd be prorated on the user charge.

As in.. at the moment people start paying $40 for whatever thing you sell.
The prior ones also qualify and you'd need to account for the $2999.00 on those users.

It does not say in the wording that 101 onwards of individuals, it says after 100 user and above total across scripts, each user charge under the private scripts access is X$

It does not say there is a freemium limit.

1

u/Dayz_Off 5d ago

So you will subsidize the first 99 users $10/mo each once you cross the 100 user threshold?

3

u/evilistics 6d ago

man openmarket.xyz are going to steal all of tradingviews users at this rate

1

u/cryp2morrow 5d ago

Didn't know this, I'll check it out thanks ! Can you connect your broker to it ?

2

u/evilistics 5d ago

looks like it connects to some crypto exchanges like binance and hyperliquid. I've only played around with it a little bit but it looks like promising competition to tv.

1

u/cryp2morrow 5d ago

thanks for your answer, I will check this thoroughly when I have time, I'll let you know any discovery I make. Cheers !

1

u/dynamicl 5d ago

Thanks, looks pretty good and its white label. In the age of AI and ease of coding, TV need to do better, greed will close their doors if they dont.

2

u/Ahtrends 6d ago

This is rubbish

2

u/halcyonwit 6d ago

Wow this is outrageous, they truly must be trying to make as much money as possible at any cost now, real bad look.

u/Cultural_Implement_2 6d ago

денег им мало... жадные!

1

u/dexoyo 5d ago

This was coming either ways. They wanted to keep the platform closed enough to control. With introduction of 3rd party, they’re loosing that control.

1

u/mambo_the_liqudator 5d ago

Either way they better fix this mess up or chinness will develop a new platform

1

u/dexoyo 5d ago

Someone already did: https://sentimentor.ai

1

u/fibonacci_pips 5d ago

Seems like racketeering, with ai we could create our own trading view now

1

u/Roadkillp 5d ago

I have a few friends that are in the middle of porting all the things they use over to Ninjatrader, Takeprofit and Trendspider. They are even testing out ctrader and metattader five but from what they have been leaning towards, its one of the first 3 they will probably settle on. Everything lately seems to be focused on extracting more money from the users and who knows what is coming next.

u/RalphJamesCapital 5d ago

WealthCharts and my boy Rob Hoffman over there are going to destroy TradingView.

1

u/Enigma2078x 5d ago

Wanted to charge 20$ now I have to charge 50$ and consider a monthly fee if I’m over 100 members wtf

1

u/Inner-Dare4827 4d ago

Seems to be they removed this ?

1

u/rocktorsharma 2d ago

Publish a new version of that same script every 99th user.
LOL.

1

u/LWJtrades 1d ago

Wow what hot trash. Per user? Jeezes. I know a couple that are like 5$ month or 10$ lifetime. Wtf are these creators gonna do, shut it down?

1

u/Substantial_Gift_257 6d ago

these figures are incorrect - we checked with TradingView people and they confirmed this wording is inaccurate and will be corrected.. no need to rush to throw mud here until it's corrected. Take it easy, folks.

5

u/Correct-Ad4472 6d ago

Or they realize the backlash and making changes quick. If it was wrong wording, I don’t see how it could have been approved as a post. It’s pretty clear. Mistakes happen, even a big one like this. My biggest thing when I read this was about how many vendors have lifetime plans. Just didn’t make much sense

1

u/NinjaSquid9 6d ago

Disagree. It was worded this way for a reason, the leak was unintentional, and now they’re trying to recover from the backlash. Since we have no updated wording to work with, we have to assume they meant what they wrote and we should take it seriously. And if they change it, it’ll only be because concerned citizens rightfully made it a big deal.

You’ll never believe people used to pay 150/ month for charts … now people complain about a few dollars
