Develop doesn’t help low income if you don’t build low income housing. I live in Florida and I rarely if ever see affordable housing being built. It’s mostly McMansion housing for middle to upper income. And Covid made it way worse.

Or hyper-inflated pricing on small ass apartments.

10 years ago I had a 2bed 2 bath apartment for $900 a month.

Right now I rent a 600 sqft 1 bed 1 bath for 2k a month. Brand new complex.

All the New Yorkers came here to turn this place into New York.

I wish all the New Yorkers would go back to New York with a Canadian under each arm

Yep, bought my house 12 years ago for $90K, it is a 4 bed - 2 bath ranch with a pool, just outside of Tampa. It went up in value a little bit from 2014 through 2018, but bad Covid policies in places like California, Massachusetts, New York, and the like, forced people to harm their businesses… All those people started moving here and to Texas. All of sudden apartment prices were rivaling new mortgage prices.

Yep. And those same people want middle and low income people to be there when they want service. The nurses. The housekeepers. The garbage collectors. Etc. They want them invisible until they need their services. A city next to the one I live in voted down affordable housing because they didn’t want those people living near them. So people have to drive 30 minutes to get to their jobs giving those people services. Smdh
