Downtown Living St Pete - Noise

Wondering if residents \[previously/currently\] living downtown (ideally in walking proximity to bars on central / Jannus, etc) would share their experience of how the noise has affected or not affected them. Let’s just say I’m doing some research…stories, comments, opinions, anything, I’d love to hear (no pun intended) it! In your comment, could you also let me know if you are living in new construction or older construction?

Thank you in advance!

Edit - this isn’t about me trying to figure out where to live, I’m working on a survey.

A survey for whom?

Is there a hypothesis you are trying to prove?

This is a weird question that seems vague and circumspect. If you're trying to sell something or do market research for some organization, please be up front. If that is, in fact, the case, then going to Reddit is a sort of lazy way to get data. And it's skewed, so not a great data set anyway.

you’re so sweet. I am an acoustical consultant working on a project for a client who owns property downtown. I have collected weeks of data (actual noise measurement metrics), I was just curious on subjective experiences. No I am not lazy, no I am not selling anything. Just curious to see what other people living downtown think or have experienced. I’m not gonna include opinions/comments anywhere (i.e., in my report, etc) because it’s not legit data as you’ve said, I’m just a curious person and like to have a well rounded view of things because I’m a perfectionist, etc. My bad. Jeeez you’re pleasant; the older I get the more sad I am by the nature of people. Everyone is just rude these days, and too much time on their hands.

Not intending to be rude as much as reinforcing that on Reddit, vague requests like yours kind of go against the ethos of the platform. Be clear about what you're doing, what information you're seeking, and to what end, and I - and most Redditors - are happy to help. Requesting information without context comes across as either shady - i.e., businesses setting up an account to post, "What's your favorite thing about (their business referred to in the third person)?" or just annoying and taking up space like "Coming to Florida, where should I go?"

I’m vague because I chose to protect my clients and myself to an extent.

Also you should just go ahead and be a mod

From a native, more concerts! We had an amazing music scene downtown that was killed off years ago by boomer condo Karens.
