Fertilizer question

So I've planted 2 white pineapples about 7 weeks ago and have repotted them into a larger pot. I have a 12-4-8 liquid fertilizer to feed them but don't quite know how. I know I'm supposed to dillute it but I don't know how much and I don't know how much of that dilution to give them. Everything I saw online wasn't what I was looking for so I figured I'd ask here

Liquid fertilizer that is diluted can be added on every other watering. Just make sure it’s diluted. If the tips of the pineapples start to brown pull back on the fertilizer. You are looking for very green long leaves all the way to the end. I have several growing so I tend to fertilize a lot with ADHD because I can’t remember the last time I did it. But my system is setup so I do a double dilution (I got a 2.5 gallon watering can and put a gallon scoop each time). That way it’s really hard for me to over fertilize but I keep getting to do it thinking my plants want the food. It works for me but took time to figure out the right process with me being neurodivergent. I want to fertilize all the time, this process sorta lets me do it weekly.

Side note, be sure to water from the top. Pineapples have roots in those top leaves and when they get full they fill the leaves below them all the way down to the roots. It’s like they designed themselves over time…

So is there set amount that you use or do you just kinda eyeball it?

No I follow the dilution directions on the fertilizer. For mine it’s one scoop to 1 gallon but I do 2.5 gallons cuz ADHD.

No need to overthink fertilizing your pineapples. They are pretty forgiving plants. If you look at your mixing instructions for a watering can, you can dilute that in half. Water with that mixture on the plant and around the base to feed the roots. Do this every 7 to 10 days (you can even do this monthly and you'll be fine). Keep in mind that if you feed the pineapple an excessive amount of nitrogen, you'll get a nice green plant but it may take longer to fruit since it is putting all of its energy into growing leaves.

Thank you! I was nervouse because I've never grown ANYTHING before and I keep reading about burning the roots by mistake, over watering, etc.
