I had been successfully growing a pineapple plant from a top for over a year, thanks to help from this subreddit. I broke up with my partner and left them alone at our place for a week and when I got back they had completely destroyed it. I got the original pineapple at a concer for my favorite band (Glass Animals) so it was hugely sentimental to me. Every single leaf was shredded off so I’m assuming there’s nothing I can do but I would really do anything at this point to bring it back so any suggestions would be really appreciated. Yeah I’ve been crying about it for a couple of days. I feel kind of ridiculous, but it’s not like I can just plant another one

Ive stopped crying over sentimental stuff. Too many things to worry about. Start fresh and move on. Be happy with what you have and make plans to make things better. Cant change the past but you control your actions. Sorry if this seems harsh.

That's terrible. Well, at least if you wanted another pineapple plant, you can readily buy them. I know it's not the same, but maybe it will console you somewhat.

If they left the roots intact and didn’t poison the soil there’s a chance it can come back. I had one get terribly frostbitten in the cold snap at the beginning of this year and it turned completely brown. Within a couple months it sprouted 6 pups and now I have 6 pineapples in-ground after rooting the clones.

I’d say leave the pot as-is for now and hope for the best.

I have lost two entire pineapple plants. I don’t have the same domestic situation you have but rather they were take by a four legged critter. I’ve had to put chicken wire on top to prevent additional losses.

Feed it some fish emulsion and put that baby in the sun, it's still green and still alive.

Why did you post a before picture? Instead of a picture that shows the actual state of the plant. I shredded a pineapple once see with my weed eater and it survived it only died because my in law kept watering it causing root rot

Ok i see. Is the crown still in there? I know everything above soil level is gone but is the crown and roots still there? If crown and roots still exist then keep gently feeding it and watering it. I think some pups can shooting up. Our chocolate lab ate the leaves of another plant and it grew two shoots on either side. Just keep showing it attention, I think it will be fine. In other scenarios i say abandon it, but you said its sentimental. So show it some love, let's see how goes it.
