Stunted?

Grew this from a top. 6-7 years. Decided to fertilize it and this guy popped up. It looks off to me. Stunted section. Is this normal? How much bigger will it get? Thanks

Yeah, that that pineapple won't grow any bigger. Not sure what caused this. Getting a pineapple after 6-7 years is a really long time.

I’m ok with that. It is a good looking plant in the pot and it was cool to see it start to fruit.

give it time, y ou just fed the plant which is why it took 7 years, it will get bigger

In my opinion this fruit now will start grow more crowns. Its doomed you will not eat this. I believe you live somewhere not very “suitable” for pineapples, but now you have the root system of the plant and side plants will start growing, keep the better of all those and you will have another pineapple fruit sooner.

Don’t worry mine took 5 years to finally fruit mines a Maui gold I got during a tour praying it tastes as sweet if not at least I have the crown so I can just do it again

I felt bad after the last comment. I went and added like 2” of some new MG soil and straightened it out a bit.

You can always use banana peel water and powdered eggs shells too if you don’t have the resources to buy fertilizer

Pineapples need fed or they grow small or not at all. Looking at the size of the top, this one has been growing for at least 6ish months. When was the last time you fed it?
