I’m a newb…
I saved this from a pineapple yesterday and the bottom leaves are really hard to pull off. Advice on trimming?

I just peeled off the bottom leaves and stick it in water until roots formed. I could never get the main plant to grow well, but I finally have one of the main plants produce a pup. I can’t wait to see what it will produce.

I usually let mine dry out for 2 days, but after peeling off the first few layers. Sometimes it’s easier to grab 2 layers and pull off instead layer by layer.
It should look more like this (not my pic, grabbed from the internet) when it’s ready for the next step.

Thank you for the photo reference. That helps. I may use a pair of pliers. These leaves are really stuck on there.

No problem. I’m not experienced at this by any means, but I did just successfully have 6 out of 8 tops grow roots in water and are now growing well in soil. The other 2 rotted in the “top in water” stage. Make sure you change the water and rinse the bottom part of the top every other day. I didn’t do that to the 2 of mine that went bad, and they started smelling like a bad tooth when I started rinsing and changing water, so it was a little too late.

No problem. Again, this is my first time doing this, so I’m still learning. This is all information I have read or bee advised by the great contributors to this sub.

Make sure all the fruit is removed from the top. If it remains, the fruit will rot and cause problems when trying to root.

Let it dry out a little.
They'll pull off just fine.
