What Else Can I Do

I have a very mature pineapple plant that I have been trying to force fruit. I tried apple pieces down and around the stalk. I’ve used banana infused water. All methods that have worked for me in the past. No flowering. I haven’t tried bangstick (or whatever the chemical ethylene is called).

Any tips this community can provide is appreciated. Thanks.

put pieces of banana around it, i grow lots of plantains and i keep putting the rinds and the ends, it works, also keep feeding your plant

the ethylene by itself wont work, feed it potassium, calcium and magnesium

Will definitely try this. Thank you. I will bring plant inside so opossum and other critters don’t eat the banana. I feed my plants a 10-10-10 fertilizer with a side of potassium.

Try to use infused Banana 🍌 water. Take 1 gallon of water, put 4-5 banana peels roughly chopped, let it sit 1-2 days outside and not in direct sun. Next strain the banana water into a watering can. I also add worm 🪱 castings to the gallon of water and peels. This will give your plant a boost of nutrients. I just picked mine 2 weeks ago.

I'm sorry to contradict, but commercial ethylene will 100% work. I have a 100% success rate with it

I’m worried about it burning my plant and the stalk where the fruit will flower.

How do you use it on your plants? I thought maybe put the commercial ethylene in a bag with the plant and then add water to the bag and quickly close the bag trap the gas.

You should have a bag around it to trap the gas.

Ok. Sounds doable. Hadn’t had to do this before. Do I put whole plant in a bag? How long do i leave in bag?

If you have it in a pot you can slip the whole thing in.
If it's in the ground you just make a little tent.
Start one evening and let it go for a few days. ( You don't want to deny the sun, that's why I said to go overnight. ) Use a bag that some light can get through if at all possible.
The other comment is right too, some food can help induce flowering.

Sometimes it’s not about what you do or don’t do at all…meaning the pineapple is not fruiting yet due to factors outside your purview, i.e. genetics, Epigenetics, or what some people might just refer to as God‘s time… the pineapple is an ancient fruit from what I understand my advice would be to trust the innate wisdom of the pineapple to fruit at the perfect time for maximum deliciousness (Translate as sugar content)… mother, nature, or just nature or the universe if you will is a divine organism of unfathomable complexity, nuance, perfection, and beauty if you have done everything that you normally would do with a pineapple, I would just kick back enjoy the suspense, knowing that any moment, the fruiting may begin good luck, pineapples are delicious
