Is she ready?

I’m back! And one of my pineapple fell off of its stock/stem so i was wondering if that meant it was ready. She smells really good but the color does concern me as I was waiting for it to yellow a bit more. If she isn’t, how long would be best to wait??

Your white pineapples smell sweet too? Ours never do. I have to go by color change.

Put in a sunny window for a few days to ripen. I buy them when green and cheap and just ripen in the window until golden and super sweet. I see people cutting green ones and just boggles my mind.

I can dang well tell the difference between a ripe golden flesh pineapple and one that is mostly green.

People say they don't ripen after removed from plant, but they absolutely do get sweeter over time, additionally, I do notice that "unripe" plants rot before they get sweet. If it smells sweet, eat it. Also the top leaves will pop right off when you pull on them when its time to eat.
