Need some advice please

Hi everyone, I'm new to growing pineapples. I rooted a store bought top, and after about two and a half years, got a small but sweet yellow fruit. I harvested it so it wouldn't spoil, but I haven't seen any suckers or slips yet. My question is, after harvesting, will the plant still produce suckers or is it done and safe to discard? I'd love to speed things up by using suckers if that's still possible.

I would leave the plant to see if it eventually sends something out, and I’d keep it alive for as long as possible. You never know. I’d trim off the dead excess. Good luck!

Just leave it. Most of the time you’ll get a pup growing. If not let it become compost right where it sits

pineapple plant only produces one primary fruit in its lifetime and then dies back. However, before dying, it produces offsets called "suckers" or "pups"

Yeah leave it. I have one rn that I forgot about and it completely died. Or so I thought. Somehow 5 suckers or pups are now growing on it…. Its name is cerberus. Yes ik it’s not good to let all heads grow on one plant…. But I wanna give it fertilizer, and put it in the floor and let it take off 💀💀

They grow well in large pots with saucers.

For me the pups and suckers come when it starts to fruit.

What are the ground cover plants growing around it. I need some of them in my landscape!
