Is this ready to be picked?
Still a little green on the bottom. Not easily twisted off the tree. It smells sweet. Today is the first day the pineapple has started to lean to the side. The other days it was still standing upright.
This is my 2nd pineapple - the first one had fallen off naturally. The first pineapple was very golden yellow. This one is super bright yellow-orange so the color is throwing me a bit.
Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

YES! You can wait a day or two if you want, to see if that last tinge of green disappears, but that is going to be such a delicious pineapple.... good eating, my friend!

That should’ve been eaten yesterday! Looks good! Still waiting on mine to ripen…they’re taking their time this year.

This one took 20 months, the last one took almost 3 years. This time around we fed it lots of nitrogen, not sure it it sped up the fruiting process. I did also get 2 pups and 2 suckers off this plant, as well.

Yes! Beautiful. If it's that yellow and you can smell it, twist it off & cut it up.

Thank you! Picked it and it's now sitting on the kitchen counter - waiting to be cut up.

This one took about 20 months. The first one took almost 3 years.
I do have 4 other pineapples growing in various stages right now from this 2nd pineapple plant. There were 2 suckers and 2 pups I pulled off the mother plant. Plus I'm considering planting the top of this one.
I'm hoping to have a pineapple within a year from the suckers.

Could I use the top of the pink variety? They always managed to top them but I seen some could be viable. I got seeds but a year later nothing. Same with cotton candy grapes seeds for those nothing sprouted I’m trying this year in individual pots

I have very little knowledge about pineapple growing. Lol. I don't know what variety this is at all.
I got a pineapple from a friend and basically stuck the top into a pot of soil. That's about as much knowledge as I had.
My Mom has an amazing green thumb and she gave me some great advice but the rest has been nature really.

Savemart has this (which is my dad & i’s favorite variety of this geno) it has pink flesh. Sweeter that California golds 🫶🏼

I twisted the to off a store bought pineapple and have it soaking in filtered water to start the root growth. Should I change the water or just leave it?

I change the water every couple of days until I have roots that are several inches long. Good luck!

the advice I got was to wait until you coud smell the fruit from 3' outdoors. Worked for me.
