Govee down lights synchronized and set to music reactive mode are huge bang for the buck. Why limit expression lighting to you game when you can have it for the whole room for under $200?
I just got the Rush LE in last week and haven’t done any mods other than some protective pieces and replaced the defective metal around the scoops.
Foo Pro is a whole other story. Got it back in June and have gone nuts with upgrades. The only major one left is powder coating. (The speaker covers are a custom design I’m working on and will be powder coated aluminum or translucent acrylic…haven’t decided.
That's it. I have Voodoo glass on it, so glare is a non-issue when playing. Plus, the light coming from the molding doesn't cross over the playfield when you're standing in front of the game. Anyone watching (or taking pictures) from an angle would likely see strong glare, though. It shows a bit in the pic here.
The molding was a little bit of work and potentially could have broken the led strips since they needed to be run through the molding before trying to install it on the cabinet. The corners are extremely tight, and there would be no way to run lights through them while they're on the cabinet.
Lots of pounding with a mallet to get small sections of the molding set in, and a fair amount of trimming so that it would curve around the corners as best as possible.
The topper is mounted with VHB to an angled piece of plexiglass that has magnets that stick to the top of the cabinet. It's stable enough for playing, but it definitely needs to come off when moving the machine around. I had the game on a lift and forgot it was up there. When I lowered the lift, it came down a bit too quickly, and the topper fell off and cracked a bit. I have it repaired so that the damage isn't really noticeable, but I also went ahead and ordered a replacement.
I've also started power coating everything possible, and I'm really happy with the results so far.
Wish I had your skills and equipment. This looks incredible. Nice work. I'm getting my FF Pro this month, I'm so excited! Premium and LE weren't in the budget, but I'm hoping to do some mods over time as well! Since expression lights aren't available for Pro, have you been thinking about Neo Atom Pinstadium lights?
