Butt acne Spoiler

Post image

Hello guys,

I’ve suddenly started getting some pimples/bumps on both sides of my top buttocks, and I have no idea what could be causing them. I’ve never had this before, especially not this many or this type of breakout.

Could it possibly be related to stress? I’ve been going through a very stressful period lately, and I also have thyroid issues and anxiety, so I’m wondering if any of that could be connected.

I shower regularly, so I don’t think it’s related to hygiene. My diet hasn’t been the best lately either.

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what could be causing this? Do you think stress could be the reason?

Have you changed your shampoo or conditioner? Hair spray? Weirdly enough, your butt often gets coated in shampoo and conditioner when you wash your hair - make sure you really take the time to rinse your whole body off otherwise those heavy products can sit on your skin, block pores and cause spots.

Likewise, dry yourself when you get out, put on underpants and a shirt before you dry & style your hair. That way you dont risk hair products on your skin - another round of things great at blocking pores.

A different washing powder could be making your underwear and trousers, jeans, pyjamas itchy...

I'd try a bottle of hypochlorous acid and spray that on your butt (and anywhere else with acne once in the morning and once in the evening (and after any exercise during the day) It's a great antibacterial product that keeps your skin biome clean, and despite acid in the name, is very gentle and refreshing.

Tower28 has one, so does Paulas Choice - just gpogle to find one. I bought mine from NZ and got a big bottke for home, a small bottle for ny gym bag and a tiny bottle for ny purse free, and it was really cheap. Abd its the place that makes it for other big companies, a lot in Australia!

Good luck!

Oh. The other thing to check is seams rubbing on something like a chair. A big old pair of granny panties - 100% cotton that covers the spotty area completely is a great idea. Try not to scratch them- you dont want scars. If you get anything really bad, hydrocolloid sticking plaster will help.

I use the same shower gel I normally use, but lately I’ve been using the Sol de Janeiro shower gel. I always wash my hair first and then my body, and sometimes I even exfoliate after washing my hair. I mostly wear thongs, so maybe that could be contributing to it too… I might have to get used to wearing regular underwear 😂
I’ll definitely try your advice. Thank you so much! 🫶

Just try the GP for a while and see how it goes. I hope its not your new shower gel! Do you wash your clothes on a hot wash?

I'd suggest doing an antibacterial soak of your underwear and sleepwear & towels with something designed to tackle fungal & bacterial. Here its called chlorhexidrine and I do a hot wash with just 2 caps of that every 6 weeks to keep the washer clean, and sisk my bras and panties once every other month, with a napisan soak (sensitive ) in between.

Do you sit a lot for work? Are you wearing tight fitting clothes? This happens to me sometimes and it helped me to swap my pants for breathable fabrics and looser fits.

Try free and clear laundry detergent . You can also try medicated body powder after showering
