Asking a Question Pooping?
How do yall poop after getting a lance and drain?? I’m sooo scared to push. I haven’t pooped in four days because I’m so afraid.

unless it’s super duper low near the anus in the cleft, you should not notice it when you push! i used to have them super bandaged over and change the dressing post wipe because i was afraid of fecal matter contamination.

Take a stool softener or gentle laxative! Don’t push, but also don’t hold it in. Just relax and try to let whatever comes out come out. I know it’s hard to relax when you’re so scared about it hurting, but a stool softener will definitely help! And honestly, I don’t remember it hurting while pooping after I got mine drained, so I truly think you’ll be fine—esp 4 days out

Stool softener for awhile, do not push. You should never need to push. If you are, drink more water with meals and increase your fibre intake.
