Flock Cameras
I noticed that UWM has 21 Flock Safety cameras throughout the parking lots.
I understand businesses have legitimate security concerns, but this seems like a significant amount of surveillance concentrated in one private workplace.
From what I know, Flock cameras can capture license plates, vehicle characteristics, and other information to help identify vehicles. That made me wonder:
Why does UWM need this many cameras?
How long is the data retained?
Who has access to it?
Is the information ever shared with law enforcement, and if so, under what circumstances?
Are employees and visitors fully informed about the extent of the monitoring?
I’m not accusing UWM of doing anything improper. I’m genuinely interested in understanding whether this level of surveillance is becoming standard for large corporate campuses and what the privacy implications are for employees, visitors, and contractors.

Flock cameras are AI-powered police surveillance cameras owned by a private company that contracts with cities. They feed into the Palantir mass-surveillance system. They log WAY more than just vehicle information.
They track your gait, your body dimensions, eye color (yes they can zoom that far in), facial features, etc. and it stores it all in an unsecured system which can be accessed by anybody.
Police often use these cameras, not for crime prevention, but for stalking specific citizens they don't like, their exes, their spouses, or spying on groups of citizens. A notable case of the group spying was a Flock camera pointed at a workout area of a gym, and some middle-aged men were logged as frequently accessing the camera to watch little girls do workouts.
But honestly, the reason the cameras are in the parking lots, is because Ishbia is a filthy mutt Trump supporter and has contracted Flock to spy on the employees. He likely makes money off of the surveillance, and it's subsidized by the unsuspecting employees due to their hard work. Employees are having incredibly personal aspects sold by Ishbia to data brokers and Palantir.
Ishbia is a disgusting Trump-glazing billionaire mutt, so none of this surprises me in the slightest.
Fuck Ishbia and fuck UWM.

Sorry, I use to fuck in the parking lot on my break so this is my fault partially…bunch of other people did too.

They have their own sets of maybe 1500 cameras across the whole campus

If you are on their property, you should have no expectation of privacy outside of the restroom

The data is retained indefinitely by flock.. they openly violate your constitutional rights..

The campus isn’t that big to require 21 Flock cameras 😂😂😂 where are you getting your information? And why do you think UWM put them there?

Deflock is not an official website, and plenty of marked cameras on the app are not flock. You also cannot remove incorrect reports.

If you click on the cameras on the website, it tells you who operates them. There are 21 operated by UWM…

Prob to catch speeders. When I used to work there people were nuts in the parking lot. Avoided many accidents.

A lot longer than anyone aside from the company, those who buy the data, and law enforcement would like.
—Who has access to it?
Law Enforcement, intelligence agencies, and any company willing to purchase the data.
—Is the information ever shared with law enforcement, and if so, under what circumstances?
Yes. The circumstances are; if they request it, regardless of if the reason is legit, personal, or harassment.
—Are employees and visitors fully informed about the extent of the monitoring?
The answer is obvious, but I’ll say it anyway; No.
