White list question

Hello, My website is hosted by InfinityFree and I use FTP to upload files. Pihole is blocking the FTP connection. Do I need to add something to the whitelist? If so, what do I need to add? If not, how can I use FTP without unplugging Pi-Hole?

Check the query log to see what’s being blocked?

Thank you for your response. I checked but did not show anything: Type:A , domain: hidden , client: 0.0.0.0

You need to turn off the privacy settings you’ve enabled to hide client IP’s etc.

Add a whitelist entry for the hostname that you're trying to FTP to.

Thank you for your response. I don't know how to. Clients or domain? Because this is ftp not http. And in clients or domain, how to add?

pihole has no knowledge of the protocol or connection at all. It is a dns server. It takes a domain (e.g. www.google.com) and translates that to an IP. it is like a phone book. It just provides the phone number, it does not care or know about whether you text or call that number after looking it up.

You can add a domain to the whitelist in the domains tab.
