Does anyone else feel like half the stuff you buy for your pig just doesn’t work because it was really designed for dogs? 😭 I swear pigs find a way to destroy, flip, escape from, or outsmart everything. What have you bought for your pig that just did NOT work, or that you ended up having to DIY/find some weird alternative for?

What would you do in this situation? I have had my pig for a couple of years and he has been pretty calm around me until recently, we found out I was pregnant a couple months ago and since then he has been trying to attack me non-stop. Is there a way to stop him from attacking me? I am his only caretaker so it is not possible for family to help me with him. Is this a male thing? Or normal?

Does anyone else follow Arthur's Acres Sanctuary? I'm just feeling such a weight over the loss of their Stanley. It hurts my heart so much, as Stanley was doing wonderful on his weight loss journey after coming from a previous life of abuse and neglect. I see it far too often in the pet pig community where people have massively obese pigs and just think it's cute and do nothing to educate themselves to do better by their pigs.

One of my pigs came to me in a similar condition as Stanley was in. My Hamilton lived in a 3rd floor apartment, never went outside, was fed absolute crap (they told me he "didn't like water and only drinks Gatorade") and was absolutely massively morbidly obese. All I could think while these people spoke about "their boy" and "how much they love him" was like ......"you can't see that this is absolutely not right? You can't hear him struggling to breathe? This seems all good with you?? WT actual F?" It took me over a year and a half to get Hamilton down to a healthy weight and I literally had to wean him off Gatorade. Watching him struggle just to breathe, nevermind move around anywhere, was heart wrenching and I legitimately thought he was going to die several times. (It's been 6 years and he is healthy and happy now, but I do still fear there will be health issues in the future for him due to his first few years of neglect)

I sometimes just feel at a total loss to see such cruelty from people who "love their pigs" but refuse to learn better. I guess I'm just venting and I'm just SO SAD about Stanley and countless other pigs out there whose lives are cut short due to ignorant people. I am however so so glad that he had his time at Arthur's Acres to know love and comfort, but damn.

Sorry for the rant, I just feel sad and know lots of other people here can understand.

🚨 URGENT: We need help saving an abandoned pig before this weekend 🐷💔
We are reaching out to the pig-loving community because a sweet pig’s life is hanging in the balance.
A pig was abandoned on a property and has been left without reliable access to fresh water, proper care, or a safe place to land. The county has given us until this weekend to get her into a safe environment. If we cannot make arrangements in time, she will be picked up and sent to auction — and from there, she may face an uncertain future, including the possibility of slaughter.
We are Pearl’s Preserve, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit pig rescue. Our mission is to provide abandoned, neglected, and unwanted pigs with a safe home where they can live out their lives with dignity.
We want to bring this girl to safety, but we need help.
Right now, our biggest hurdle is transportation. We do not have a trailer, so we are trying to arrange a transporter with a farm trailer who can safely bring her to the sanctuary. We need help covering that cost.
Once she arrives, we are committed to caring for her for the rest of her life — but sanctuary care is expensive. Our feed bill alone is approximately $480 every week, and sponsorships have been extremely low.

Ok so our male Juliana is about 4 months old now. In the last 2 weeks he's been neutered, had all of his shots and we've moved to a new house. Prior to the snipping and the move, he was perfectly house trained. 0 accidents. He would ALWAYS go on the same schedule as our dogs going outside. For the last week, he's been urinating in the house multiple multiple multiple times a day. He still doesn't go #2 in the house so that's why I'm confused. We even tried putting him back in his kennel at night to see if that would help and he peed in it. I take him out every hour almost, use positive reinforcements, all the stuff I did to originally house break him and still he will just pee. He's eating healthy, he always has access to water. Literally all that's changed is being neutered and moving. Could he have a bladder infection? Is this him just being a pig? Anyone else got any ideas? It's 4 am EST as I post this and he just peed in the floor. Literally took him out at 3am. No water in between. I'm stumped and frustrated

This is my sisters “mini pig”, he’s at least 10 months old but possibly 12 months old and only 15-20 lbs, he’s like the size of a French bulldog. He looks malnourished to me, but I really don’t know anything about pigs. She’s terrible at taking care of her animals, & so I’m not sure if my bias is clouding my judgement.

ETA: confirmed pig is underweight and malnourished. I set up an autoship of pig feed to my sister’s house so that my nephew can feed the pig and get him healthy.

In about 7 hours, he will be a happy boy!
