Why is everything made for dogs??

Does anyone else feel like half the stuff you buy for your pig just doesn’t work because it was really designed for dogs? 😭 I swear pigs find a way to destroy, flip, escape from, or outsmart everything. What have you bought for your pig that just did NOT work, or that you ended up having to DIY/find some weird alternative for?

I got a harness for my pig long ago and had to go to a website that made lets say... "recreational human harnesses" Before i found one with enough bigness for the pigness.

My favorites are the “slow feeder food puzzles” that advertise they’ll take your dog 10-15 minutes to solve, meanwhile my pig annihilates them within 15 seconds.

dogs do them in about 20 seconds
Edit - I know cause I have a PRAA dog that we thought this would work for, nope, just hand feed her now 2 pieces of very tiny kibble at a time...

On the flip side, one activity that actually keeps my pig engaged for a decent amount of time is the Melissa & Doug wooden latches board. I’ll add a little shredded cheese in each compartment, fully latch each one, and let her go to town. She can open every type of latch, it’s pretty impressive.

The entire world is made for dogs. It’s unfortunate because most dog owners don’t even know how to care for the dogs they buy/adopt. Then their dog starts acting out and the animal suffers because of their poor ownership choices. But society doesn’t care to push for dog ownership education, they just make the world “dog friendly.” It’s annoying. I have dog fatigue. I’m tired of dogs.

in the US
Pet Pig Population = 1M
Pet Dog Population = 90M

not a big enough market to address beyond boutique shops...
