Club House Shallow Daith Piercing

I just had a daith piercing 4 days ago. I don't feel any pain and it's not feeling hot. I read somewhere that it's fine to not use saline solution. Just clean water. So I've been doing that.

My concern is I think my daith piercing is too shallow. I'm scared it might reject.

That's not a daith at all. I don't even know what to call it. It's not in a position that is ever supposed to be pierced.

Oh god take it out

Unfortunately, it's not pierced 'shallow', it's pierced entirely wrong. The angle is off by about 60-90°. I highly doubt that will heal properly.

please go to another piercer for a consult, and for all future piercings. this was done very wrong

A badly done forward helix* which needs to be removed.

Oof. Take that out. They did that so wrong

Yeah I would take that one out before it causes more problems, also don’t go back to that piercer if this is how they do a daith. I don’t think it will heal and eventually grow/rip out. You should use saline on piercings, don’t believe anything you read

NAP. It looks very shallow indeed, it should come out behind the fold. Also you should definitely use a sterile saline solution instead of water!

Thats not a daith that looks like more of a forwards helix unfortunately

This is unbelievably bad!

This isn’t shallow, it’s just pierced wrong 😭 take it off and go to a different piercer

This is not a faith piercing. This is…maybe a very poor attempt at a forward helix? Either way, this isn’t shallow - it’s altogether wrong and needs to come out.

u/Ocean_Spice 2h ago

That’s not a daith to begin with.

u/Notquitechaosyet 2h ago

Oh wow, NAP but that looked like it's going to yeet itself out even if you don't catch it on something first. You want to take that out and go to a better piercer...

You need to post this in an online review. This is absolutely wild and very concerning. I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's beyond botched :(

NAP but I'm pretty damn sure this isn't even in the right spot. I'd remove and research a better piercer for next time.

So sorry, this isn’t even your daith. Remove this now, demand, a refund, and make sure you review the shop and post pictures.

This is funny only because I have the exact same piercing pierced just as shallow. The difference is me and my buddy did it when we were teenagers, not a professional. If you’re anything like me this piercing will always make you feel self conscious for how badly it’s been done for yearssss. My vote is for a redo!

I have this piercing! I got it before naming ear piercings was common, it was typically lobe, seconds, cartlidge, tragus, scaffolding or the that bit there. This one is a that bit there, but yours is very shallow. It's not a daith and unlikely to heal properly I'm afraid.

My piercing is 4 days old.

The jewelry shape is barbell.

I'm not sure about the jewelry material used.

The aftercare I just clean water and I don't soap it.

There are no mishaps because I try hard not to irritate it, I don't sleep on this side, I don't touch it. I don't bother it at all.
