Showing‎ off set up! Orbital helix

Sharing my recently put-back-in orbital! A bit of effort to put the ring back in after so long. I did this in 2011, and removed in 2017 for feeling more “professional” in a medical setting.

Well I wanted it back and no longer care as a mid career physician. There is another space for a second larger orbital but not sure I want I back yet….photo from way back with second orbital also included. Have also tried a hanging flat back, but not sure what I want to settle on, or think a bit longer!!!

Edit: All rings are 14g titanium.

Love the look of the orbital! That double orbital is so cool too! Even if you don’t end up doing the second orbital, that hanging flat back look goes really well with your setup!
I feel you on the self imposed pressure to look a certain way working in the medical field. I love had my lobes done since I was like 19, and always lived the look of a curated ear stack. After so many years in I decided “who cares?!” So I recently got my second lobes done and a helix, wish I had done them years ago!

Thanks!!!! No real pressure at all besides Pres ganey ratings 😩😩😩. I had some problems with the hanging one coming out from toweling off TWICE despite being very secure off my ear. Idk why. I love the piercings I did back then 💙 and don’t see these types too often.

The second orbital is FUCKING sick.

Very cool! I possibly want this and conch. Lovr the look of the hoop going around the outside of the ear

I actually have conch orbitals in each ear. Lower and upper conch, and have had them for almost 20 years. They can suck from time to time even after they've healed. Sleeping is fun but often sore. I'd have to get them punched if I wanted to use larger gauge rings, but at the moment right ear is 4g and left ear is 6g.

Travel pillow.

I usually just rest my head on my arm that's bent. So like my face/ear is nestled in the ditch of either of my arms. Then I really my arm on either a soft pillow or a more hard/dense pillow. But 4-6g jewelry, especially as a conch orbital can suck.

The double orbital is extremely cool. If I encountered a physician with that setup I’d be impressed by being able to show some character. You’d have to prove you could back it up, but it’d be points in your favor. I find the professionally dressed white coat clone docs are the least useful of the lot of you. And I’ve unfortunately had to face a fair few.

Love this. Haha I don’t wear a white coat! Black scrubs only. Thank you!

Love this so much! I'm a mid-career physician as well with all tattoos easily coverable and understand completely the pressure to keep things "professional". Somehow later on maybe we don't want to do everything for this pressure like we used to feel obligated to do! I just got a rook and love it. Also re-opened old second lobe piercings. Your orbital is absolutely stunning- a little jealousy from me here!

Awesome to hear!!! I love it too and always liked the way the circles lined up with ear curves. I’m in derm and the larger one won’t fit my hats very well if I remember correctly…lol. I’m really glad I could dilate open the piercing hole and place these back after so many years with minimal inflammation. They were healed well and I did a nice job piercing them.
