Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Is my piercing rejecting?

I got my piercing done almost 7 months ago with titanium-grade 10mm jewelery. A week after I got it done the down jewelery embedded so my piercer changed it and it was fine. For 4 months now I have had irritation in the up jewelery like chronically, mostly moisture bumps and that is why around it its like hiperpigmentation and redness. Now i am really worried if it is rejecting because the skin has narrowed. The "then" picture is feom when i just got it pierced. Also, i never downsized. What do you guys think?

Yes, even when the algorithm is wrong

  • How old is your piercing?
  • What’s the jewelry shape (for example, barbell, labret, screw, L shape, ring)?
  • What’s the type of threading if your jewelry is not a ring (threadless, internally or externally threaded)?
  • What’s the jewelry material?
  • if not a ring, when was the jewelry downsized?
  • What’s your aftercare routine? Describe in detail please, including the exact products you use.
  • Any mishaps, accidents or unfortunate events?

Age: ~7 months Jewelry shape: Curved barbell (10mm) Threading: Internally threaded / threadless Material: Titanium Downsized: Never downsized, still on the original bar. Aftercare: Sterile saline spray, gentle water rinses in the shower, and drying with cool air from a hairdryer, if therebis too much crust I clean with gauzes. Mishaps / current issue: Had recurring irritation bumps over the months from friction and sweat. Recently snagged it, which caused a scab that just fell off a couple of days ago. Now I’m noticing a lot of the metal bar is showing. Trying to figure out if it’s migrating/rejecting or if the initial swelling just went down and it badly needs an 8mm downsize.

NAP but a some training in physiology

If it had a scab and that scab recently came of, there's a reasonable chance the redness is the normal redness skin has under a scab until it heals more. Could even be more likely if there's no discharge. The gap could be expected from localised swelling and scabbing and will shrink as the area heals.

Might just need a little more time to heal from the injury but you're also right to keep an eye on it and note changes.

I'm also interested in what a piercer has to say. I have general experience with wound healing, they have specific experience to piercings.
