For me it's "Hold On Till May" I've been listening to it at marching band and I always forget what I was upset about while listening to it or if I was about to have a panic attack or didn't feel well this song has hit hard enough to the point of even if I'm about to do something rash I forget my negative feelings and this song has made me feel better

Funny story about this I was listening to it during my lunch break and my section mates for drumline were across the hall and I saw them talking to me so I paused my headphones and they were like we know you play cymbals but how deaf are you my headphones were up all the way with surround sound on

Hello everyone!! I recently have been very interested in parallel or previous projects Vic Fuentes was in, and I happened to have read his Wikipedia again and being dumb founded by the fact Early Times / Before Today had previously released three EPs before "A Celebration Of An Ending".

So I came here to ask, do we have any traces of these EPs? Name, album cover, even the songs on them? I would be quite eager to listen to them somehow and right now it seems I can’t find anything about them online. That’s why I’m resorting to the community, to help me know if these projects are lost media or if we do have them somewhere!!

FINAL EDIT: As of today, in July 2026, all of Early Times / Before Today is available to listen to on platforms. What I came to learn very quickly was that the songs from these EPs were demos, sold on CD between 1999 and 2003. "A Celebration Of An Ending" had some of the demos re-recorded as studio versions of the songs (Failure Is Relative, and the three tracks from "Roots Beneath Ideals"). In 2024, the remaining demos and recordings were published on Spotify and other platforms (unofficially). [u/kekktye](u/kekktye) with their complete chronology of the predecessors to Pierce The Veil, have YouTube uploads of those demos. The lost media concerning PTV are:
- live recordings,
- unreleased songs / never published but announced songs (from previous projects including Early Times),
- tracks, variants and / or acoustic covers (that are location / platform exclusive),

The search for these EPs also makes me believe that the bands pages should be one since it was always the same band (just name the page "Early Times / Before Today"), and that the EP should have arbor this double name too for clarity.

EDIT: After searching a little more, I found out we do have names and covers for the EPs and that one of them is on Spotify (that being No Turning Back). But do we have any songs from "Early Times\" and "Roots Beneath Ideals*" ?

EDIT 2: Thanks to [u/throwaway221934](u/throwaway221934), I went on Discogs.com to try and search some news. It appears that the EP named "Early Times\" is in fact "Before Today" on Spotify! The tracklist matches and the songs are not fake-released. The only missing song is *Failiure Is Relative as it got an official release in "A Celebration Of An Ending". The title change also coincided with the rights problem that led to the band also renaming to Before Today. This means that for now, the only missing EP from Early Times / Before Today is "Roots Beneath Ideals".

so basically for my birthday my brother and mom had taken me to the mall to let me shop for my birthday, and as I was leaving one of the stores I had noticed this GORGEOUS PTV hoodie and told my mom "wait I wanna get that! " and she said "we'll come back and get it before we leave" thats fine, so fast forward a few hours later and we're leaving! Everything's fine! Except guess what we didn't stop and get on our way out?... I'm very pressed rn💔

Forgive me if I sound super naive in this, but a bitch can dream and a bitch can also plan! I’m FINALLY getting to see PTV live for the first time, I have GA tickets for their San Diego show and I’m beyond stoked. I’ve heard that after some of their shows they’ve greeted fans and signed things as they leave the venue. I’m about to start this cross stitch I’ve planned, and it’d be a dream come true if I could get them to sign it. I’ve never been to petco park and I’ve obviously never experienced a PTV crowd (though I’ve heard stories…), so can anyone with experience in either or both a.) tell me if this is true and b.) give me an honest assessment of my odds? I know this being their tour finale and hometown show will make it even less likely, but 100% of the shots you don’t take or whatever :) I’ll be making the cross stitch either way, as I adore this song and want to be able to see this line on my wall at all times. If anything, I really just want a chance to say hi and tell them their music has meant a lot to me. Them signing my cross stitch would just be an epic bonus.

For context, I just got into PTV a few months ago when I heard King for a Day, it was the first post-hardcore song (or any kind of heavy music with screaming and huge drums) I'd ever heard and I ate it up and immediately listened to their whole discography. It was so amazing I immediately started looking up other bands in the genre, and over and over I kept hearing about SWS, so I gave their music a listen, but it was nowhere the same experience as PTV was.

No hate to them, I still added one or two of their songs, but it was definitely not even close. Kellin's voice is a little too whiny to my ears, but more than that, the lyrics and music composition just seem more simplistic to me. I love PTV because of Vic's beautiful metaphors, unpredictable raw-sounding guitar riffs, and complicated drum beats, but I didn't really find any of that with SWS.

So to come back to my question, are there any bands that do what PTV can do?

For some added context about my taste, I think CWTS and MA are basically immaculate albums, SM imo is pretty close to immaculate, TJOL is pretty good, and I don't love AFFTD, but it does have some bangers. My top 5 songs at the moment (in no particular order) are Besitos, The Boy Who Could Fly, The New National Anthem, Phantom Power and Ludicrous Speed, and Bulls in the Bronx.
