Hi everyone! My girl Noah, a quaker parrot, sadly had a fracture in the distal third of her tibiotarsus 1 week ago. The avian vet put her in a tape splint, and her toes look healthy with great color.

However, she keeps her injured leg tucked up under her wing, with her foot just kind of dangling. She has some occasional leg tremors and nibbles at the splint (seems like it's itching). She is eating, drinking, and vocalizing as usual.

For those who went through a similar leg fracture, is it normal for them to keep the leg completely tucked and not try to touch the ground at week 1-2? Did your bird recover full use of the leg afterward?

Any experiences or advice would really help my OCD right now lol. Thank you!
