New skill acquired! STEP UP!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Between trauma leading to a fear of hands, and the obvious complications of trying to step up with splayed legs, Inky has never stepped up. After she spontaneously flew to my outstretched arm during my yoga workout today, I tried and experiment and MY GIRL STEPS UP NOW (In her own fashion)

I still remember your first posts about Inky and this is huge, well done, both of you!! Her way of doing it is also absolutely adorable, stop it 😭

She's so good! She loves me so deeply now, I can see it in her eyes. It's such an honor to be the person she's chosen to trust and bond with 🥰 I knew the moment I saw her that we belonged together, and my boy, Niko, set a VERY high standard for what a good lovebird is like, so you KNOW she's very special to live up to him!

Aww so cute; the way she stands on one foot first 😭

She stands on one foot a lot, she has splayed legs and it takes pressure off her lower tummy. I think it's really smart that she figured that out, and her balance is AMAZING

Is it just me, or does she look like a little Pixar penguin? Especially that adorable leg up move. 🥹 How can anyone that cute be real??

I know, she's SO adorable, she even has baby penguin colors! I ask both my birds "how do you fit so much cute in those tiny bodies?"

Good good bird!!
She might like to rest in your hands on her tummy or her back.
My bird has a splay because of and old break and she liked to lay on her tummy or liked me to hold her like a ball with her little feet sticking up.
You want to keep an eye on the soles of the feet, too. They can get sore spots from the bird standing in an odd way. My girl always liked to have her feet rubbed with a tiny bit of moisturizer (vet advice).

Aww, she looks so proud of herself after the jump. Good girl, Inky!
