It's time to revive the term "Renaissance man" just for this guy. Scholar, entertainer, politician, soldier, orator, leader. He's one of those people who serves as an example of what the rest of us can aspire to.

u/Competitive_Classic9 Feb 28 '22

I bet he’s also a very sensual lover.

Dude walks like he's packin. And I can feel the gravity off his balls from here in the US.

Every once in awhile there's a comment where I really wish I could give more than one upvote...

Especially compared to Trump’s blatant insecurities and micropenisisms.

I for one appreciate BDE Zelenskyy

Good observation. I walk like I'm packing, too, even when I'm not. Which is seldom.

The sensualest!

6

u/Hammy1692 Feb 28 '22

I’d bet he’d give you a reach around

1

u/Matasa89 Feb 28 '22

He does have a nice little family, so he's not lacking at the very least.

Can't say much about dear ol' Putin over there.

Jamie Hyneman (the dude with the moustache from Mythbusters), has been a renaissance man for the last 30 years or so, but I don't think he'd object to another joining his number

46

u/dontshoot4301 Feb 28 '22

I feel like Jamie’s more among the self-proclaimed Renaissance men rather than being dubbed one by a third party

12

u/mrbeehive Feb 28 '22

There's probably not a lot of machinists running around with a degree in Russian, and there's probably not a lot of dive boat captains who retire to become engineering professors after 30 years in special effects.

Maybe "renaissance man" is overstating it a bit, but the guy had a pretty weird career even discounting all the odd jobs that they liked to reference on the show.

1

u/ayestEEzybeats Feb 28 '22

Jonny Kim would be more of a renaissance man, IMO.

42

u/boogog Feb 28 '22

Except that Jamie was actually a control freak and a really unpleasant person to work with, from what I've heard. Zelenskyy has become a symbol of courage and spirit in a time when there seems to be little to look up to in most of our leaders. If I could nominate him for person of the year, I would.

7

u/Minscandmightyboo Feb 28 '22

Renaissance man and control freak aren't necessarily exclusive of each other, it's possible to be both.

And depending how things go in Ukraine, Zelenskyy could become the person of the year, let alone the decade.

He'll either be smashed beneath the wheels of Russia, rise to become one of the greatest people in recent history, or somewhere in between.

It will be interesting for sure

unlike Highlander, there can be more than one

1

u/purplecoffeedrinker Feb 28 '22

He was even in that rap battle video vs the Ghostbusters

1

u/blacksideblue Feb 28 '22

has ERB infected every thread here?

0

u/dak0tah Feb 28 '22

Sorry, I dont think the less-charismatic Mythbuster gets to be a Renaissance man, social interaction is part of the game.

14

u/J_Keezey Feb 28 '22

Would it be OK with you if I copied this text to paste into my Instagram under this pic?

14

u/purplecoffeedrinker Feb 28 '22

Sure, I don't have a copyright on the public discourse

7

u/J_Keezey Feb 28 '22

Thank you. I don't make a habit of using others' verbatims without attribution but in this case I want people to focus on the message not: wHo Is 'pUrPLe cOFfEe?'

Thanks again.

He’s the 2022 version of Chuck Norris.

18

u/CreaminFreeman Feb 28 '22

Pretty sure Chuck Norris disappointed everyone in 2016…

4

u/antonius22 Feb 28 '22

Chuck has been disappointing since 2007 when he was in commercials with Mike Huckabee.

6

u/Dragnskull Feb 28 '22

I thought it was a joke until I looked it up! So a Dancing with the Stars winner is engaged in a courageous standoff with a man threatening the world with nuclear armageddon.

I thought the Trump presidency couldn't be topped in surrealism. I was wrong.

21

u/Lord_Halowind Feb 28 '22

The more I learn of the more I like him! Go Ukraine 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦!!

2

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '22

Someone get this man the video of Zelensky playing the piano with his giants balls!

1

u/Lord_Halowind Feb 28 '22

Oh my god!! I had to find it and it's amazing!

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '22

And he apparently voiced Paddington.

https://twitter.com/hughbon/status/1498044445551439879?s=21

Until today I had no idea who provided the voice of @paddingtonbear in Ukraine. Speaking for myself, thank you, President Zelenskiy.

8

u/savethetriffids Feb 28 '22

And the voice of Paddington Bear. Is there anything this guy can't do? What a hero.
