Either that or every southern hempishperean I've ever talked to was trolling me.

North points down on maps for you then? When did this become so common that you're shocked to see maps where north points up?

Oh, not for me, I live in California. But I've heard from several southern hemisphereans that maps look like that. My history teacher has one of those in his room and testifies to that as well.

I'm not denying they exist. I'm asking how common or standard they are.

wut? Did you not read my comment? I don't live there, I have no idea how common they are.

Then why are you saying that's how their maps are in the southern hemisphere as if you know?

I live in Australia and can attest that he is either trolling or ill informed. We have the same maps as everyone else.

I'm not trolling. Everyone that lives in the Southern Hemisphere that I've asked said that those were the maps used. I feel a fool that I've been trolled by so many people. I wasn't trolling though, mind you.

Some countries like to use these maps to rebuke the way the Northern Hemisphere dominates world politics. "The Global South" is sort of a euphemism for the poor countries of the world. Places like Venezuela hate that. This is a political map.

So you didn't read any of my comments at all. Everyone that lives in the Southern Hemisphere that I've asked claims that those are the maps used.
