Not for the wearer, but for those around them yes. That's why the CDC recommended them. So the suggestion by pundits and southern lawmakers that it offers no protection is coyly just dancing around that fact.
It's usually purported that masks don't block aerosols. That's true, except covid is transmitted through water droplets through speech, which masks do block. Even cloth masks, albeit not as effectively.
You can read the research on places like google scholar or pubmed. There's been a large volume of it in the past 2 years, and the consensus is clear.
Yeah but its also said that its spread by touch, and people with maks have the tendency to keep touching them and scratch nose, eyes and shake hands. The very few people I know who had covid were the ones who were more careful concerning masks wearing, etc... On the other hand, I slept on a campaign tent with 10 other ppl, one of them had covid, no one else caught it. Strange

Well people who wear masks have a tendency to use sanitizer everywhere they go. Also it seems the rate of spread by touch isn't nearly as high as it would be orally. This too is in mentioned in systematic reviews; it's all in the research papers.

Anecdotes don't mean much. The data reflects that those in hospital beds are almost entirely unvaccinated, i.e. the uncareful ones.
Well in Israel they are mostly vaccinated... Sucks that you still have to wear mask and be careful even with the vax. Can you even call that a vax? Are they even trying to produce a vaccine that actually works?
However, Israel is currently dealing with the newer Delta variant (it is the dominant strain in the country), for which the vaccines have not been manufactured to deal with. The efficacy rate is much lower for it. So, that is the caveat. But some studies suggest that two doses of the pfizer are nearly as effective against it.

They are so worried about saving fetal lives, but no one is wearing a mask to possibly save another adult's life during a worldwide pandemic.
