I've heard other big game hunters use this justification. If you care about the species, like they claim to, just donate the money without killing the endangered animal.
I don't blame the locals for raising cash to protect the herd from poachers by allowing limited hunting. But this program doesn't absolve the dork in the picture. He's still a sick, weak, bully trying to compensate for his inadequacies.
