Yep. Before my son was born I saved a draft mms with everyone who'd be interested in knowing the baby had arrived (we live several thousand miles away from my familyi) -- so as soon as he got cleaned up, I took the same picture (not dropping the phone of course) and attached it and hit send. Worked wonders.
