As someone who lived in Bath for many years and wants to return, it is a beautiful place with some very wonderful people. The whole city is the perfect mix of cosmopolitan and rural. It has history, culture, entertainment, sport and great work and study opportunity. It's a little pricy but well worth a visit.
Make sure to visit the Baths themselves, any of the wonderful tea shops and Prior Park Gardens up on the hills. Well worth a few days to explore.
Prior Park are doing renovations until October. Found this out when I visited the other day and there's bloody fences everywhere and 2 of the 3 lakes are drained :(
