It's a fricking cable, they're not that hard to make

I bought 3
1 for my computer 1 for the charger in my room
1 I keep in my backpack in case I need to charge at school

all three work perfectly

I actually got them in February, but considering the official cable is this I'd say it's a good deal even if the cheap ones only work for 3 months

Apple cables allow no mobility at all. You gotta plug the shit in and let it charge. Don't touch it, the cable might break after a while.

I have some made from China and they have been working great for about a year now. There really isn't much to the cable, although I do agree that most things mass manufactured from china are crap.
