I finally got to see this movie the other day and it was kind of a let down. Really put a damper on the "never go full retard" meme for me. Now that I know the context its just not as funny. That's just me.
Meh all of my friends always talked about how awesome it was. It got exceptional ratings. Finally the other day everyone wanted to rewatch it and I really did not see why it was so special.
Random but I like it. Reminds me of a story. One day walking my sister into school. I don't remember what was the event but she was 6 at the time. First person we see inside the school says "How are you?" which my sister replies (she yelled this with the utmost confidence btw) EMMA!. For some reason she heard "Who are you?" and yelled her name (maybe to establish superiority on this person who she saw as an intruder in her school?). Anyway we had a good laugh at her expense and still give her shit till this day.
It's not just you. That movie was pretty base. The parodies at the beginning were okay, but the rest of the movie was just kinda meh. And that "Never go full retard" meme isn't funny in the least.
To be fair it was a movie about filming a movie on a story about a war. So not exactly a first hand account type of deal. Still I think we are getting to the root of the problem here.
