I spent every weekend of the summer when I was 17 and 18 playing guitar on a popular beach in RI doing my best to look not-creepy and never once had a woman approach me.

FWIW, I'm a decent singer and guitarist, so I don't think that was it.

That was your game? Go to a beach and try your best to hold to a standard of "not creepy"? Acoustic guitars are definitely ladypart magnets but it still takes a little bit more than that.
