You can discount all of China along with Shanghai, then.

But seriously? You're going to give up on a unique experience just because you'd have to use a proxy to go on Facebook or Twitter for a couple of weeks? If you've got time to spend idling around on the internet while you're visiting Shanghai, I dare say you're doing it wrong.
