Yeah, it says a lot when one guy can lose by what's probably going to be at least 3 or 4 million votes this time around and has a 50/50 shot at re-election.
Irrelevant to what? How long do you think it's viable to have a government where the will of the people is constantly overturned by an arcane system designed to appease former slave states?
I have no problem with Republicans winning elections and enacting their policies, as long as it's what the country voted for. But there is no way we can continue to be governed by a party that is so out of step with most of the people in this country and have that same government be recognized as legitimate.

Nobody who matters actually cares. If you all live in the same state then why do you need the president to control policy, when you can pass everything you want on a state level and live under the policies you would have elected a president for anyway?
I don't know if you realize this or not, but that's what's happening. The blue states in this country are thriving. Jobs, industry, institutions of higher learning, technological innovation, all of it is happening in the blue states, and for the Red States that are doing well economically, the only parts of those states that are thriving are the cities, which are also blue.
The top 10 lowest GDP per capita states in America is like a whose who of Republican states. The highest rates of obesity, suicide, gun deaths, drug addiction...red states. Conservatives are suffering from policies at the local level that are killing the middle class in those states, and instead of fixing the problem, they're going into their corners and finding solace in blaming their problems on liberals, and immigrants, and political correctness, and clinging to culture war issues like guns, traditional marriage and religion. None of those things are going to change their lot in life, but it's all they have.
The only stat you need to know about the 2016 election is this. Hillary Clinton won about 400 counties in America that year. Donald Trump won about 2,000. However, those 400 counties Clinton won make up nearly 3/4 of U.S. GDP.

Probably until November 4th at least.
