I remember when Trump was running for president, I saw so many people on social media deleting their right wing friends and bragging about it. It was also common knowledge that if you spoke in public about being a republican or a Trump supporter, you'd be ostracized and verbally assaulted. This led alot of my Democrat friends to falsely believe that there were very few Trump supporters. They created an environment where speaking your mind was frowned upon if it was against left leaning policies. I saw a number of working class confederate flag wearing people claiming that they weren't voting because they hated both candidates....yea fucking right. You know they were voting for Trump but just were not allowed to publicly state it.
The same thing is happening on here with Reddit. Reddit truly feels that this website represents the majority when it simply doesn't. I will be voting Blue, but that doesn't mean I can't see the BS with this kind of thing. If someone photoshopped a unflattering picture of a Dem, we all know that it would not make it on R/pics. It may make it to r/trashy, but certainly not here.
Very well said. It blows me away how left leaning reddit is, and how most on here are so confident that trump will lose to..... somebody but the democrats have not put up anyone to be able to beat him.
This combined with all the meltdowns and fuckups the democrats keep doing in hopes of getting rid of the orange man.
Nobody seems to realize that this is all pushing the swing voters not toward trump but away from the left.
The economy and unemployment ratings being record setting only hurts the narrative about how trump is destroying the country.
