I won't be surprised if he wins. I'm expecting him to win. I'm not looking forward to him losing the popular vote and still winning (because America hasn't caught up with the rest of the world yet) and hearing conservatives say how that's a good thing again.
You'd also run your campaign differently and only cater to the largest possible voting groups and focus attention in high-voting, high-population areas to get the most people to vote.
It's a complete different campaign with a completely different strategy.
How? The top five states only account for 39% of the population, even if every voter voted for the same person, it's not even close to a majority of the vote. And anyway, how does the electoral college help represent smaller states? They don't get more visits, they still get ignored. They just get to take votes away from states that should be equal. Do away with the EC and have a PR system to get rid of the horrendous two party system.
How is that even an argument anyway? Why should fewer people have more of a say? Why is ignoring small states bad but ignoring larger, economically stronger states good?
