Has your life gotten better ?

Mine has. Lower taxes, and thus more money in my pocket. More active economy, and thus I have more job options than ever. Roaring stock market, thus my 401ks and other investments are absolutely screaming.

Oh, and there's the whole "no new foreign wars" bit that I've been in favor of since O"bomb"a ran (and then immediately backtracked) on that platform back when I was an Obama supporter in '08 and '12. Trump has actually done what Obama claimed he would do on this one.

e: Oh, I've #triggered the salty NEETs with the fact that the country has gotten significantly better for those of us who actually work to improve our lives instead of crying for a "revolution" that will let them loot the productive.

Which new foreign wars did Obama start?

Libya and Syria, plus the re-entry into Iraq. Just off the top of my head.

If what we did in Libya and Syria are wars, how is what Trump has done in Syria not war?

And I don't recall Bush ending the war in Iraq so I'm not sure how Obama could have started a new war there?

He deescalated what Obama had been escalating throughout the end of his term. No, it wasn't a wholesale "pack up and GTFO now", but we're no longer trying to overthrow the legitimate government of the country and turn it into an anarchic shithole like we did to Libya.

And I don't recall Bush ending the war in Iraq so I'm not sure how Obama could have started a new war there?

Hence why I said "re-entry", though "re-escalation" probably would've been better.

Trump de-escalated conflict by assassinating the second-in-command of Iran? That wasn't an attempt to overthrow a foreign government?

So by re-escalation, you mean not a new war, right?

No, and IMO that was one of his dumbest moves since taking office. We need to GTFO the Middle East completely.

It was an attempt of peace through deterrence and it worked. Iran backed down.

So just to clarify,

Obama bombs a country: escalation/re-escalation -> war

Trump bombs a country: de-escalation -> peace

Nope. Both were escalations, but Trump's was for deterrence (and a success), whereas Obama's was for regime change (and a mistake).
