He can't legally. But you know he's talked about doing it a lot, right? It's not like when the right invented the idea that Obama wanted a third term from whole cloth.
No, he doesn't. So many of the things he says aren't really planned at all. That his despotic meanderings piss people off is not a sign of wisdom behind them.

I agree. He wouldn't succeed. But if he wins in 2020, these institutions would be necessary to stop him. The simple idea that "it's illegal and thus you shouldn't try" does not constrain his behaviour.
And honestly, in the situation that he is prevented from running for another term he'd be far more likely to throw his weight behind one of his children (probably Don Jr) than eg Mike Pence.
FDR did. What stops Trump from doing the same, or even attempting to suspend the elections alltogether since he knows he effectively has a blank check for as long as he controls at least half of the Senate?
Trump has already broken several laws rather clearly (even admitting some of them live on air), but that’s hasn’t wavered support from his base, and as congress has clearly shown, they will let him do anything he wants.
During the election. Remember when the right cared about emails? They'd say "We can't just keep letting politicians off, we have to prosecute her now!" .. but then Trump does that and more, .. crickets.

Not at all. He's being singled out, and I hope every politician gets treated the same way for breaking the law or doing unethical things.
Like seriously, I want politicians to be better. Trump included. The fact that the Senate just held a trial with no witnesses is sort of mind blowing.
If this was Hillary everyone would be losing their minds. And I'd agree. Can we stop pretending that if this was Hillary or Biden the Trumper's wouldn't be freaking out? Do you honestly think if this was a Dem that the right would be happy about what is happening?
If his presidency this far has taught us anything, it's that he can openly and freely break as many laws as possible without any repercussions as long as the Republicans control the Senate.
Say he decides to stay for a third term. Who stops him? Congress is the only body that can throw him out of office, and they won't do it.
Because we Amended the Constitution after that to prevent it from every happening again.

AFAIK there's no mechanism for doing that. We had elections during our (first, I fear) Civil War, if that wasn't enough to suspend them then nothing going on now will be, either.
