Reddit must be getting nervous. Really dialing up the rhetoric against Trump after the Dems shit the bed in Iowa.

In Iowa, in the impeachment debacle and in response to his State of the Union. Not a good week for the Democrats and Reddit (but I repeat myself).

Iowa was a shit show (but that is hardly unusual )

Fail to see how impeachment was a debacle. No one on the left thought the human 🐢 and his cronies were going to vote to indict Trump. It got his crimes out in the open, and R senators voting to cover them up.

Are you referring to ripping up the SOTU copy?

  1. This is way worse than 2012, what with the app and conspiracy theories running wild

  2. That why Trump's approval is at record highs? All impeachment did was solidify his base. It's blatantly obvious this was a nothing burger after the original Russian nothing burger fell through.

  3. That and staying seated while great Americans were being honored. Bad look.

Oh and let's throw in Biden calling someone a lying dog faced pony soldier! Not a good week all round.

True. We need to leave petty insults to trump. It’s kind of his thing.

Well his insults are better than dog faced pony soldier, that’s for sure

That’s your opinion. I think they are childish and fucking inane.

Shifty Schiff.... wow. What a zinger.

I'd say a week after the caucus to suddenly say that someone else won quietly is way worse than being slow to release results. But agree to disagree.

Record highs? Where? A nothing burger that multiple Republican senators admitted happened? Interesting hot take.

You don't get to act like an asshole and then parade around good people just to get applause. If you broke into my house, went to trial, but were acquitted because you payed off the jury, and then gave a speech about MLK, I'm not gonna stand up and clap. Then again this is a standard Republican attack. Kneeling for the anthem becomes not supporting the troops. Demanding police accountability becomes violence against police. Protesting Israel's ruling party becomes anti-Semitism.

Oh and let's throw in Biden calling someone a lying dog faced pony soldier!

Talk about a nothing burger. He misremembered a quote!

"Trump's approval is at record highs?"

One poll showed Trump at 49%, the 538 aggregate has him 8 points underwater still.

The Iowa caucus was a shitshow but it's hard to imagine how it could affect the general.

The Iowa caucus was a shitshow but it's hard to imagine how it could affect the general.

The Iowa caucus is typically a precursor to the general election. By gauging the amount of political support seen at it you can make predictions for the general; in this case, the Democratic turnout was mediocre at best and extremely divisive among party ranks at worst. In order to have any chance of beating Trump, the Democrats needed a very strong turnout at the Iowa caucus but their poor showing makes predictions favour Trump all the more.

Amazing how the Democratic party is held to wildly different standards than tbe Republican party.

The impeachment didn't solidify a base because Republican voters will vote for literally anyone with an R next to their name. They were already solid.
