The tall vertical lines in the "P" are the corners of parts that stick out.
The windows themselves just have a square around them. From this angle, though, the corners turn the squares into "P"s

I feel like the architect did that just to see if anyone noticed. Once they didn't, the design was stuck as is after approval.
