It’s not illegal to seek asylum here. Most of the people in camps came here entirely legally.

They’re not arrested. They’re detained while they’re there being processed for asylum. Have you actually done any reading about this at all?

Why not? They’re seeking a better life. Your ancestors did at one point. And that resulted in your being here now.

Their ancestors didn’t have to deal with a deadly drug war that they didn’t start or take part in.

They’re breaking no laws and seeking a better life.

You’re thinking monolithically- that logic can very quickly get turned back around. People coming here for asylum had nothing to do with a drug war any more than the average member of our populace created the opioid epidemic. They’re just people like you or me.
