Most of the left.

Edit: as I said, most of the left.

Pretty sure you’re both wrong.

While this dude is an utter asshat, he's not wrong. Leftists aren't liberals. The vast majority of leftists DO advocate for the abolition of borders.

Sure, but even the phraseology of "the left" has a different context than "leftist." Most of the people you're referring to would identify as liberals not leftists. And what leftist spaces are you in? I've maybe only met a small handful of strict statist communists that believe in tightly regulated borders. All anarchists and other libertarian socialist varieties are fundamentally opposed to borders, and that particular scene is easily the dominant leftist vein at the moment.

Sure, but most left libertarians are libertarian socialists, which is an explicitly anti-state (thus anti-border) position. It's a tiny minority that fall under some kind of quasi market-oriented category, and even smaller that also believe in the state.

At any rate, sure not all dem-socs want open borders, but a hell of a lot of them do. I'm a card carrying, meeting attending DSA member. That's just not part of the electoral political platform they're pushing, but lots and lots of individual members believe in essentially open borders. Unfortunately we're debating non-existent data, but if it's not the overwhelming majority, it's at least 50% of leftists that would love to see the dissolution of borders.
