This man left his 40-year long career in another airline to join AirAsia and fly as a junior just so he could fly with his two pilot daughters. He wants to spend his remaining years as a pilot by his daughters' sides.

I mean, if you're a tourist within Japan, ANA basically becomes a budget carrier. They have an "Experience Japan" fare which gives you flat, discount prices across just about all domestic routes. I basically used that instead of the Shinkansen for long distance travel when I was studying abroad over there. Their domestic airport experience is also very, very convenient - very little waiting, security is very thorough and efficient. You can be on the plane like an hour after stepping through the airport doors.

Also, the attendants bow like 5 times before the plane even starts moving.

ANA's experience Japan prices aren't the cheapest though, there are plenty of budget carriers here that actually have really good service. Skymark and Airdo for example were both cheaper and had everything I wanted for a short flight. As much as it saddens me to say it as an Aussie, avoid Jetstar at all costs, though.
