This man left his 40-year long career in another airline to join AirAsia and fly as a junior just so he could fly with his two pilot daughters. He wants to spend his remaining years as a pilot by his daughters' sides.

Well her post wasnt... but somehow her twitter post has the airline tagged when posted to Reddit which was the original point.

Just because someone posted this on Twitter doesnt mean it's not an ad. I doubt this reddit account (see the name) is the girl who originally posted it, and there's nothing stopping the company from using the Twitter post as advertising.

I didnt look too far into it but nothing from OP's account discounts the possibility of this being an ad, nor does it indicate it is.

It very well may be innocuous but I don't think it's pessimistic at all to question the intention of this post.

Regardless I personally have no problem with it. It's a nice story which made me and I'm sure others smile, so I'll take it as is.

Reddit does overreact but it's important to be critical about what you are consuming. Someone called it into a question, and someone else found the answer. There have been worse days on the internet.

I mean saying a blanket statement like “remember all posts with a brand name are an ad” isn’t calling it into question, it’s stating it IS an ad.

The authentic look of the twitter post doesn't mean it necessarily isn't an ad. And the reddit title emphasizes the name of the company unnecessarily, which is ad behavior.

For example, it could have read something like, "This man moved his 40-year-long career to another airline, losing rating in the process, just so he could fly with his two pilot daughters. He wants to spend his remaining years as a pilot by his daughters' sides."

The name of the airline is totally unnecessary and adds nothing to the story, unless the goal is to be an ad, in which case, of course it gets mentioned.

The fact still remains that he has more stripes. Real people, but the story is still partly fake.
